Should I get a Chopblock or a Cutting Board? What is the difference?
These are good questions! A chopblock is a much harder cutting surface. It is made from from the end grain of many pieces of wood. It is generally much darker in color and much thicker, up to five inches. A chopblock is something nostalgic; truly a last art of crafting. They are beautiful and functional and make fantastic gifts for a woodworking lover who already has everything or for a serious cook or chief who only works with or on the best.
A cutting board is made from the long side of a piece of wood, not the end grain. Cutting boards can be of many shapes and sizes and are generally a lighter color. A cutting board makes a good gift for anyone who wants a good looking, yet everyday board for use in their kitchen. They also make great surfaces to display whatever you cook at home, for entertaining guests or at a serious competition.

Care and Maintenance
Our boards and blocks don't have a finish on them, so everyday use only cuts or scratches the wood instead of damaging a finished surface. That being said, our boards and blocks are especially easy to maintain and keep looking beautiful. I offer a no frills guarantee for the life of the board. If you have a problem with the board, just contact us directly and we'll replace the item. Easy as that.
Do NOT put these in the dishwasher! The heat and aggressive wash will damage the product and void the warranty.
1. Wash with soap and water.
2. If you only use your board occasionally (once every three months or so) apply mineral oil as needed to maintain luster. (If you use your board in everyday use, you can use olive oil to maintain shine and luster.)
3. Let dry.
4. Enjoy!
